Broken for Greatness.

To make an omelet several eggs have to be broken. To get coconut water, several coconuts have to broken, to mine gold the earth has to be broken and mined. We are broken a little every day and by degrees we’re remade into different people, older, wiser, better in the same clothes, with the same scars but with new glory. You are not the total sum of your mistakes, but the total sum of who you choose to be after each mistake.

Who fixes broken people? Is it only other broken people, ones who’ve already been ruined? And do we need to be fixed? It was the messiness and hurt in our pasts that drove us, and that same hurt connected us at a subdermal level, the kind of scars written so deeply in your cells that you can’t even see them anymore, only recognize them in someone else.The wound is the place where the Light enters you. We are all wounded. But wounds are necessary for his healing light to enter into our beings. Without wounds and failure and frustrations and defeats, there will be no opening for his brilliance to tickle in and invade our lives. Failures in life are courses with very high tuition fees, so I don’t cut classes and miss my lessons: on humility, on patience, on hope, on asking others for help, on listening to God, on trying again and again and again.You Have the power to become great take another step on the simple yet mandatory path greatness. IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH

A VALIANT AND IMPREGNABLE MESSAGE TO EVERY WORSHIP LEADER 

Your role as a worship leader is not to perform and draw the congregation’s attention to yourself but to magnify and amplify God’s presence. Leading worship is not about showcasing your musical ability and explicating your prowess in leading the congregation. 

Respond to God’s call and submit your musical abilities to Him. Formal music training and leading worship are two different things. Do not transform the altar to become a stage to showcase your abilities and display your ambition and thirst for human recognition. Your role as a worship leader is to guide worship and not to be worshipped. 

Be a worshipper. Lead by example; understand that worship is for God’s pleasure and not just for creating an emotional atmosphere and euphoniums. Do not therefore cojole and condemn the congregation’s slow response to your canal singing. Don’t bash at them and use harsh words like “lift up your hands, why won’t you worship your God!”. It’s inappropriate and vain. It is counter-productive to exhort people to worship. The spirit of praise and the heart of worship is caught and not taught. 

People may begin to dance,sing and shout but their hearts may not be worshipping. You therefore at this point sieze to lead worship and become a hype man or woman. If the people don’t respond fix your attention to God and very consciously worship Him, people will see this and follow suit. 

Last but not least prepare adequately for the worship service. God is a God of order and form. Prepare your own heart,develop your skills and adequately practice through all songs. Diligence of the development of skills will help the congregation and the musicians to feel secure in you as a worship leader. Have knowledge of trending and new worship songs.

I propose to you that what you believe is powerful. If you can change what you believe, you can change your life!

Most of us are struggling to control our behaviors and actions because we lack control over our emotions and feelings. We verily don’t have control over our emotions and feelings because we don’t have control over their thoughts. And we don’t have control over our thoughts because we are not controlling what we believe. *John 3:31, …he that’s from above is above all…* 

*2Tim 1:7, we have not received a spirit of fear, but of power and love AND SOUNDNESS OF MIND*

 Put simply, if you believe wrong, you will struggle with wrong thoughts, toxic emotions, and destructive addictions. Consequently, there is only one way out of this vicious cycle of defeat.

The truth of your identity is not on what Men think of you but what God says and thinks of you, do not allow people to judge and extrapolate you according how they got to know you or what they’ve heard about you but by His view of you  only the manufacturer knows the true value and worth of a product.

We are saved by grace as a gift, not because of our performance.

Mark this,we have the right to a new life in Christ. Once we have broken off wrong belief systems, God is beckoning us to step into His spotlight and radiate like never before in His Zoe and His Chayil

Understand that what you give credulity as regards to you is what you’ll eventually become.Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in what God has deposited in you, you cannot be successful, you’ll lead an average lackadaisical life

 *Paul Bryant says,* If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride – and never quit, you’ll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards.

Verily I say to us, believe in yourself, take on your challenges, dig deep within yourself to conquer fears. Never let anyone bring you down. You got to keep going. Through Christ we’re more than conquerors.

Ideas for Instrumentalists

methods of Orchestration/ directing music 

1. Work with the limitations and strengths of the musicians and vocalists that you have

 2.Ensure that choice songs and arrangements bring out the best in every one of them.

Extemporary; most common form of playing in worship. A foundation of keyboard or guitar, the other musicians ‘improvise’ ie. Make up their own unique parts by working around the melody line and accompanying chords. 

Not strict to musical law, it’s effectiveness still depends on a strong element of overall control and direction. All musicians should keep their parts simple or the sound will be too busy and the overall effect blurred. The phrasing and dynamics of the song will be lost-most common fault with this form of music directing. 

Encourage the musicians to use their instruments to their full extent by sometimes having breaks and/or melodic improvisation featuring the gifting and style of a particular player. 

In one song it may be appropriate to have a driving guitar sound. In another a haunting melodic oboe or violin improvisation will be effective. 

Different songs lend themselves to powerful interpretation by a particular instrument/instrumentalist. Selective improvisation is therefore quite important 

Mutual understanding and sensitivity are essential among the musicians, song leader and vocalist when ministering and/or improvising (on the musicians part) practice therefore plays an important role in developing solid sound. Inevitably both singers and players come from different musical backgrounds and have different styles of playing or singing, pub style pianist, trad jazz sax, classical violinist. It will therefore take time and patience together with an attitude of mutual submission, respect and care to nature an effective ministering group of singers and musicians who work together.

Baptism in the spirit and personal renewal in worship can only find full satisfaction in the context of a body of people with similar experiences who desire to see the implications for church life realized. Worship is both a personal and cooperate activity. Therefore as the church restores what has been lost in worship so it must also recover what has been lost in body life in order for that worship to find full expression. The restoration of worship will inevitably be accompanied by the restoration of the anointed body of Christ.

The God of Music

​I am not in conflict with this precept at all…”God looks at the heart…” but truth be told we’ve abashed the place of excellence in music in kingdom place and what we’re offering is the same old, same old, feeding on the same diet results in mulnutrition and deficiency diseases, spiritual Marasmus. I will no longer implode neither will I judge when I see my brothers like Willy Paul and Bahati and many others,  doing collabos with secular fanatics, much of it is a financial oust and thirst for fame, but it is also due to lack of conception of renewed and revived worship, and believe you me, you cannot train a soldier to be loyal to his country before teaching his hands to fight. Soldiers do not ride on wild horses, music is the horse, let’s take our musicians and singers to music academies and school of worship, let them master their talents, understand what worship really is, lest we profane and debase the indelible Gospel, then come back to the altar, break their alabaster boxes at the feet of Jesus and pour forth an immutable, paean and euphonious praise and worship, ignescent of the anointing unto the King of Kings, it is the anointing that transforms a talent into a gift; the topic of worshipping in spirit and in truth has lingered time in memorial, let’s break it down, what is *TRUTH* according to 1 John 2:27…(read the Scripture.) *But the anointing we have received….*Ain’t it true that princes are walking on feet while servants are riding on horses…#proper_perspective, a musician will practice tooth and nail for a cooperate gig paying him 10k, hours of practice just to  display and put his best foot forward for the cheque, but will shamelessly miss out on a night vigil Worship Team practice or barely listen to a ministration song, and yet still step on the altar to worship ( in music expression, to a precedently present, mighty God)…truth be told, a worship leader will put on her best dancing shoes,  hire a practice studio pay up for hours of practice to present a song at the state house yet The same worship leader wants to practice for an hour on a Saturday to lead a praise and worship service to Yahweh, the King of Kings…where is the *#truth* where is the *#the_spirit*

Why should.we give credulity to human affairs and neglect kingdom assignment, why should we let the devil have all the good music?..to be continued.
